It's back-to-school time in Calgary and new times and speed limits will be in effect for school and playground zones. Motorists across Calgary should be aware of the new policies that have been approved by City Council that will be in effect starting Monday morning.

There will be new speed limits set in the city for school and playground zones. During the summer, the City Council put its stamp of approval on a policy that would implement these changes in these certain zones. Between the hours of 7:30 AM - 9:30 PM, motorists will need to slow down to a speed of 30 km an hour.

Up until now there has been a warning period in effect about the new times and limits. That time is now over so if you get caught driving faster than 30 km an hour in the selected…

Dream Development put together a community cleanup to help the High River community of Montrose deal with the remnants of the devastating 2013 flood. Dream Development is the developer of this community and wanted to restore it to its pre-flood glory.

Residents and volunteers raced into action on October 9 from 9 AM to 12 PM. Dream development was working together with Lifestyle Homes, the Town of High River, Westview Homes and all of the volunteers on this community cleanup. The event was put together to address the ongoing interest in restoring the Montrose community to everything it was before the flood occurred.

Move over Canadian retailers, the American giants are prepared to move into our territory. On Thursday the first Marshalls store opened in Calgary in the Kingsland Village Shopping Centre on MacLeod Trail S.E. The ribbon-cutting took place at 9 AM and there were customers already lined up in anticipation of the grand opening.

This store is much like the Winners stores in that it offers brand name home fashions and apparel at discount prices. Marshalls has already opened stores in Québec, Ontario, Nova Scotia and British Columbia and has plans to open 33 more stores across Canada in the future.
