If you are looking for a great show that features a puppeteer that is not your standard entertainer then this guy is a must see. Puppets like a Hollywood diva that's an alcoholic, a talking cow, and an older lady named Edna Rural will tell dirty jokes and sing songs to you and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Called the Canterbury tales of puppet shows, you will find there is something for everyone in this amazing non-scripted show.

Ronnie Burkett has 40 Handmade Puppets to Show to You

Ronnie Burkett has forty puppets all handmade that will have you grabbing your sides from laughter. He has an interesting back story for his show The Daisy Theatre. The inspiration came from illegal puppet shows that were going on in Czechoslovakia while they were occupied and repressed by the Nazis.

Risking their lives to entertain people the shows were called daisies because they are a flower that can grow in the dark. Inspired by that metaphor he named his unpredictable show with no script, tons of songs, and lots of hot topics after them. He has over thirty years of experience getting his start in a small theater in 1993. He is happy when jaws drop and his audiences are completely entertained.

What makes the show special is that you are connecting with a puppet on a personal level as you watch the show. Burkett has only handmade puppets, his own creations and he designs every part of the stage that you see. You can really tell how much work has gone into putting the show together, and he really enjoys doing it.

This is a great show coming to Calgary. It is not one of those events you are going to want to miss out on. Make sure to get your tickets at the Daisy Theatre before the show is gone. It will go on until March 7th.
