Pearl + Co is a hair salon located in downtown Calgary on 17^th Avenue, in the heart of the retail and entertainment district. Jenna Pearl Schmidt started Pearl + Co to provide exclusive services to clients and to build a community where other stylists could learn more about her extension methods. The name “Pearl” is a generational name passed down in her family and pays tribute to the beautiful and supportive women in Jenna’s life.

What Makes Pearl + Co Special?

Jenna sources products geared towards maintaining hair’s integrity and makes recommendations for the best treatment for each individual client’s hair. Jenna stresses that you always know what you are paying for with each service price broken down into labour time and products.

Pearl + Co offers braidless-weft extensions and colouring. Jenna specializes in blonde hair and extensions, but she works with dark haired clients as well. She is certified in extension methods that use machine-tied hair as well as hand-tied hair, and she is in the process of developing a proprietary hair extension technique. She advocates that a good hairstyle can strengthen your confidence and her main goal is to have you leave the salon feeling your absolute best. 

Mission & Community Support Efforts

As a firm believer in community over competition, Jenna began developing a course for other stylists to learn her proprietary extension method. It is important to her that she share her experiences and help other stylists pave their own path to success. In the future, Jenna plans to develop her own hair extension line. 

“I get a lot of fulfillment educating clients on the best hair routine for them, or educating stylists on how to navigate this industry, extensions, and clients,” says Jenna.

Though all events are on hold during the pandemic, appointments are still available. You can book an appointment online following a hair questionnaire and COVID-19 safety form. Consultations are preferred so Jenna can gain an understanding of your hair goals and vision. “Pearl + Co is a safe space for everyone”, Jenna emphasizes, “If you come into my space, you will feel cared for, important, and leave feeling better than when you walked in.” Plus, social distancing is easy when it is only Jenna and you! Jenna is able to give you, and your hair, her full undivided attention each consultation and appointment.

When times are hard, people search for things to brighten their day and make them feel good.” Jenna prides herself on building connections with clients and ensures that they feel cared for as soon as they step into the salon. Pearl + Co is Giving Back to Calgary

Giving back is also important to Jenna, and Pearl + Co is eager to share their unique referral program with the local community. With each appointment, clients receive a referral card for $25 off a chemical service to give to a friend. Once redeemed, Jenna will donate $25 to the charity of their choosing!
