Every year, beginning as early as the first week in November, the city of Calgary boxes up their Halloween décor and begins the hungry search for stocking stuffers, secret Santa gifts, and all things Christmas. These many Calgary Christmas markets will continue on until a few days before December 25th, mostly taking place on the weekends. Ready to check some things off of your holiday to-buy list? November Calgary Christmas Markets
Christmas in the Country Art Sale
Dates: November 3-11
Are you looking for the next piece of art to hang in your home? Then the Christmas in the Country Art Sale is where you need to be this November. “Over a thousand pieces of fine craft and unframed artworks by local artists will fill the Historic Leighton Home.” The event will feature over 100 different artists displaying their art, décor, and treats! Free parking and admission for all.
Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market
Dates: November 16-18, 23-25, 30
Presented by TELUS, the annual Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market is one of the most popular and largest Christmas events in Calgary! Featuring over 300 different vendors from the local area as well as world-imported goods, crafts, gifts, food, and more. While you peruse the vendors, be sure to grab a hot chocolate or eggnog and wander the Spruce Meadow grounds to see the beautiful Christmas lights and even Santa’s reindeer! Tickets are available online for pre-order or at the gate.
Christmas Market in Marda Loop
Dates: November 17
For a community-focused Christmas Market, be sure to go to the Christmas Market in Marda Loop. The market is open from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Marda Loop Community Association. This particular event is in support of the Calgary Interfaith Foodbank working together to, “keep Calgary fed!”

Dates: November 23
Held at the Bowness Community Association, the Curated. Winter Market Calgary is an amazing two-day event that offers you everything you need to get ready for Christmas. Join Curated. for entertainment, prizes, local food trucks, and, of course, holiday shopping!
Winter Greens and Festive Lights Christmas Market
Dates: November 24
Jam, baked goods, Christmas décor, hand-made gifts, and a local café – all of this can be found at the Winter Greens and Festive Lights Christmas Market. Located at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, come down for a warm beverage and wander around to see all of the market vendors. Admission is free for all!
Little Modern Markets Holiday Edition
Dates: November 24
Hosted by Little Modern Market, the Holiday Edition event is a “modern and local pop up market, bringing amazing small and locally owned shops to the suburbs of Calgary.” Among the many shops and vendors, you will be able to find children’s gifts, clothing, accessories, home décor, art, paper products, jewelry, health and beauty products, and other food items! Event begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. at the Official Rally Pointe Volleyball Club.
YYC Alternative Christmas Market
Dates: November 24
At the Inglewood Community Association Hall this November is the YYC Alternative Christmas Market. The event will be taking place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. This local market supports all “local makers, artisans, designers, artists, and small business owners” where you can complete all of your Christmas shopping for everyone on your list – say goodbye to Christmas shopping stress!
December Calgary Christmas Markets
Christmas Market at Century Downs
Dates: December 1-2
For the fourth year in a row, Century Downs Racetrack and Casino has hosted their wonderful Christmas Market. Here you can “shop a variety of local artisans and craft vendors while enjoying popular German street food and mulled wine!” Both days the market will be open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and admission is free for all.
Calgary Expo Holiday Market
Dates: December 1-2
Calling all nerds, geeks, fans, and everything in-between! The Calgary Expo Holiday Market is one Christmas market you will not want to miss out on. Featuring local retailers, artists, and creators, you can search through the many fan-based products sold at this extravagant event. Even better, dress up as your favourite character while you shop! Tickets are $10 and are available online or at the entrance.
Make It Calgary!
Dates: December 6-9
Do you enjoy handcrafted goods and locally made items? Then the Make It Calgary! Christmas market is where you need to be on the December 6th weekend. The market can be found at Deerfoot City, where more than 100 of Canada’s top artists and makers will be attending and sharing their creations with Calgary! Early bird tickets can be purchased online for $3 plus tax.
Calgary Christmas Market

Hosted by The Jingles and the Calgary Farmers’ Market, the Calgary Christmas Market is a free and fun event for the whole family! The Jingles will be performing at the event from 1-2pm and the rest of the day will feature other performing acts, delicious treats, music, and shopping from the many local vendors situated at the Farmers’ Market. Parking and admission are free!

Millarville Christmas Market

Celebrating its 30th year, the Millarville Christmas Market is back at it again with all of the feelings, smells, and tastes of Christmas. Various vendors will be set up both inside and outside offering everything from stained glass works to custom woodworking. In addition to shops, you and your family can hop on a hay ride, roast chestnuts, carol, and observe blown glass demonstrations! There is plenty of traditional Christmas activities to participate in all weekend long!
Okotoks Christmas Market
Dates: November 9-11
Just outside of the Calgary city limits is the city of Okotoks. This year at the Foothills Centennial Centre, the Okotoks Christmas Market will be featuring over 175 artisans. The market will host vendors selling “jewellery, apparel, baked goods, artwork, bath products and much more!” This event is perfect for the entire family, and kids even have a chance to meet Santa, check out the children’s workshop and listen to some caroling!
Bragg Creek Artisans Christmas Sale
Dates: November 17-18
Join Bragg Creek for the 41st year of their Artisans Christmas Sale! The event will have local art and handcrafted goods that are for sale – perfect for that home decorator and art lover on your list! “Discover crafts, decorations, gifts and original artwork by local artisans.” Admission and parking is free – food and drinks are available at the local café.
Banff Christmas Market
Dates: November 22-25
Looking for beautiful scenery and Christmas market goodies? Head to the mountains for the Banff Christmas Market! The event is styled as a European-inspired market that has plenty of handcrafted gifts and items to browse. The Banff event will also feature a fantastic opening ceremony, story time for the children, a visit from Santa, sleigh rides and other winter holiday activities.
