The Glenbow Museum
The Glenbow Museum is one that has received not only critical acclaim but popular acclaim as well. Not many museums can say that. If you want to know about the history and heritage of Western Canada you will find it here.
It’s a pretty big museum housing three stories full of information. Browse around a bit and you will find a very detailed account of the early years in Canada. You will also get a glimpse into some of the hardships that took place as well. It is the perfect museum for both children and adults.
Firefighters Museum
If you have little boys they will love this museum. I suppose your little girls will love it too. When you walk in you will be greeted with all kinds of firefighter equipment. It gives you a glimpse into firefighting between the years of 1870 and 1973.
One of the best parts of the museum is the collection of fire trucks. You will see how fire trucks have evolved over the years. You can even get in and ride one of the old fire trucks from back in the day. There are more than 3000 artifacts at this museum alone.
The Military Museums
Plenty of Calgary and Canadian history is found at the Military Museums. It's the largest of its' cind found in western Canada. You will discover plenty of artifacts from the most respected fighting regiments in Canadian history including:
