How to decorate Your Condo for Christmas

When it comes to decorating your Calgary condo for the Christmas season you're going to have to streamline your efforts to make sure that you don't create a cluttered feel. Decorating a condo for the holiday season is completely different from getting your house into the festive spirit. You have a lot less space to work with and too many decorations can be overkill.

Wreaths work wonderfully!

With so many wreaths available you'll have plenty of choice and can find one that will set off your condo and holiday spirit perfectly. These days there are a variety of styles available and you can even purchase colored ones that have a modern look to them.

Making use of your wall space when decorating your condo for Christmas makes a lot of sense. A couple of wreaths hanging on the walls or doors will make your condo apartment shine for the holidays without adding a cluttered appearance.

If you have a balcony...

Use miniature light sets to add a decorative glow to your balcony. You'll be able to enjoy them from the interior as you gaze through the patio doors and you'll also be able to gaze up at them as you pull into your building.

Feel free to use these mini lights to accent the mirrors and pictures that are already hanging on the wall too. Setting up a string of lights around your bathroom mirror is all you'll need to get a joyous holiday spirit into this small room.

Accent pieces

You'll be able to add a few accent pieces to your living space but as soon as you start to feel the sense of clutter building don't add any more. It's best to clear off the top of a shelving unit or entertainment center first before placing any Christmas decorations on it. Take out a box and pack away the pictures, knick-knacks and other decorative items that are placed there throughout the year. Once Christmas has come and gone you'll be able to pack away your Christmas decorations and put the regular ones back into place.

Remember that there are a lot of other things that you can do to add a festive mood to your condo without having to over-decorate it. Make it smell like Christmas by purchasing some cinnamon scented air freshener and bake up a batch of your favorite Christmas cookies. Then turn on the Christmas carols, pour yourself a glass of eggnog and relax in your condo that has the Christmas spirit without a lot of unwanted clutter.
