Is It a Good Idea to Show Your Home on Easter?

Next weekend is Easter and if your home is currently up for sale you may be wondering whether you should show it this weekend or not. The simple answer is yes you should, but only if you feel comfortable doing so.

There are a lot of people that don't celebrate Easter and wouldn't mind selling or buying a home on that day. If you are practicing the holiday and feel that it wouldn't be right to conduct any type of business activity on that day, you should let your real estate agent know ahead of time. He will understand and won't give you a call on that day. Any prospective buyers will be asked to view the property a day or two later. If you're going to be out of town, let your agent know whether he can invite people into your home on Easter.

There are some real estate agents too that won't be working this Easter weekend because they are going out of town or visiting family. If your agent can't do viewings this weekend, he'll let you know as well. He may have another agent that is helping him out for the weekend to do the viewings for him.

Since everybody doesn't celebrate this religious holiday, there will still be plenty of transactions occurring over the weekend. If you feel comfortable at all showing your home, you may find a buyer. A lot of people may be using this long weekend to their advantage to do some serious home shopping. Whether or not you list or show your home this Easter is really up to you. There is really no right or wrong answer on this one.
