Calgary residents have a lot to look forward to this November. The city is bringing fun to residents before the Christmas season in December. You can expect shopping, food and music this November. Here is a look at the events around Calgary.
Food Donation for Canadian Veterans - 1005 11 Street S.E.
This November you can make food donations for Canadian veterans in need. The cause is going on from the 1st till the 15th. They are accepting non-perishable food items to the Canadian Legacy Project’s 8th annual food drive. Giving back to those that have served the country is a must.
There’s a new restaurant in town opening in the middle of November. The Barcelona Tavern is a Spanish and Mediterranean restaurant on 8th Avenue. It’s actually the only gin and tonic type of bar downtown. You can enjoy dishes like Rioja Braised Veal Cheek, a milk fed veal with parsnip puree along with their cocktail menu with local, Californian and Spanish wines. The whole family can enjoy this place.
There are three new stores opening at the Market Mall. You can enjoy Journey’s, Tommy’s Gun’s and SoftMoc opening in November. This is located in the northwest area at 3625 Shaganappi Trail N.W. This is also a good time to start Christmas shopping. Check out the Millarville Christmas Market, Okotoks Christmas Festival and the Bragg Creek Artisans 38th Christmas Sale.
Check out the 4th annual Snowfest taking place November 16th. It’s being held by the MEC to get Calgarians excited about snow. You can participate in gear swap, shop at the tradeshow or take a course on avalanche safety.
Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra
Finally, check out the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra J’aime Paris Festival sometime between November 21st and December 4th. It’ll feature French music like you might here at a café in Paris. The concert is $20 at various locations.
