About Heritage Park

The park first opened in 1964 and has grown into one of the area’s premier tourist attractions. It’s also one of the largest attractions in the continent and most successful for a living history museum. You’ll basically be interacting with 100 years of history between the fur trade of the 1860s to the automobiles of the 1950s. The park works to preserve the history of the early West by educating and entertaining the public.

What to expect

When you arrive to the Park gates, you’ll enter the bustling Heritage Town Square for no admission cost. There are four shops like the antique portrait studio and a restaurant. Enjoy the park or step inside the Gasoline Alley Museum with one of the world’s largest public collection of antique cars and trucks from the 1930’s – 50’s.

If you visit from May through October, you can experience the 1900s Living Historical Village, the 1880s Pre-Railway Settlement and the 1860s Fur Trading Fort and First Nations Encampment. The 1900s Living Historical Village features the antique midway, the authentic steam train, the working printing press and the blacksmith shop.

You can experience homes and lifestyles of the first new settlers to Canada’s West in the 1880s Pre-Railway Settlement or see the diverse people like trades, explorers and settlers in the 1860s area.

There are different rates depending on the time of year you visit. This summer rates will start at $25.75 and decrease for seniors, youth and children.
