Woodbine Community
Woodbine, established as a neighborhood during the 1960’s in Calgary’s south zone, is a fairly large community which offers its residents a serene lifestyle that’s enhanced by stunning views of the surrounding scenery, thanks to its location. Woodbine real estate is bordered by Fish Creek Provincial Park to the south and the Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club property in the northeast.
Around twenty years after its establishment as a residential neighbourhood, Woodbine underwent major urbanization during the 1980’s and afterwards. Developers intended to cater to all sorts of home buyers by creating a wide range of houses capable of accommodating small to large families. Properties range from the mid $200,000’s to $1 million and beyond, thereby expanding Woodbine's market to those looking for starter homes, luxury dwellings, and everything else in between.
Today, this picturesque address has managed to accumulate a total population of over 9,000. Moreover, almost nine-tenths of the total number of homes for sale is comprised of single-detached houses. The remaining one-tenth consists of a nice mixture of townhouses, semi-detached dwellings, and apartments.
Woodbine Neighbourhood Amenities
For families moving into Woodbine with children, continuing their education within/nearby the premises of this prominent neighborhood is a definite possibility, as there are over five public schools and three private schools situated at a distance that’s walkable or a few minutes by car away. Moreover, home buyers also have the advantage of immediate access to an array of amenities and recreational activities great for adults or children. For the latter, these types of opportunities are rendered through Fish Creek Park and Glenmore Park, and are inclusive of tennis, football, basketball, two skating rinks, and several sports fields.
As for shopping, dining and entertainment needs, these are easily satisfied through the Southland Shopping Centre, which is home to an array of commercial properties, and is only a short drive away from the community. Alternatively, the downtown area is host to a wider range of commercial and entertainment businesses, and is conveniently accessible by car and public transport.
